Dodgeball concludes with two champions

February has drawn to a close, thus finding Intramurals bidding adieu to Dodgeball. Mandi Smith's Dodgeballerz took home the championship in the women's division with a decisive victory over Lauren Miller's Ball Busters. Tim Conner's team, the Step-Dad's, took home the championship on top of their undefeated season in Dodgeball. When asked why he chose that name, Conner informed us that "It's because we beat you and you hate us."

March Madness basketball has started and will continue throughout the month, with eight men's teams and four women's teams competing this year.

Intramural Cup Points

In order to encourage students, faculty, and staff and residence halls to join in the fun, the Intramurals program has adopted a points system that allows for the awarding of an Intramurals Cup Champion as well as a Residence Hall Cup Champion at the end of the academic year. The point system provides more incentive for individuals and groups to participate in the Intramurals Program by keeping the thrill of competition within its limits and placing a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and having fun through participation.

Points System-
Register a team on time = 25 points
Team forms completed/turned in on time = 25 points
Attend captains meeting = 50 points
On time/ready to play at event = 50 points
Good sportsmanship = 25, 50, 75 points (awarded at IM staff discretion)
Forfeit game = loss of 50 points
Unsportsmanlike conduct = loss of 75 points

Team Events-
First Place = 30 points Second Place = 25 points
Third Place = 20 points Fourth Place = 15 points
Any finish below Fourth = 10 points

Individual Events-
First Place = 25 points Second Place = 20 points
Third Place = 15 points Fourth Place = 10 points
